Chain Icon

Ed is a videographer and photographer with an eye for distinctive images and cinematographic framing. For the third version of his website he was really looking to continue the site’s evolution in a bold and decisive manner. The website would continue to serve its primary purpose – a digital showcase of Ed’s work – and so the design had to remain as a secondary element to the main website content.

Taking inspiration and cues from Japanese culture the design is born of a simplistic but distinctive form, the red carefully chosen to balance the memorable with the subtle. The end result: an elegant yet decisive design that works to promote Ed’s content in a deliberately curated fashion.

The underpinnings for this website are provided by WordPress, which has then been further customised to provide the feature set Ed required. The administrative interface provides access to each separate section that forms the entire single-page design. With complete flexibility to rearrange, edit, remove and add content, giving Ed the ability to tweak the layout to suit his needs, all whilst remaining true to the original aesthetic.

Brand Guidelines

Ed wanted an eye-catching website, but one which didn't obfuscate the content. Simplicity, soul and distinctiveness were the key requirements for this project; the website needed to be both memorable in design but also as a suitable portfolio showcase.

This project is built in accordance to the XHTML 1.0 Strict specification.
